Complex Trauma and the Neuroendocrine System

 

In Insight Craniosacral 3, we will deepen our understanding of complex trauma and develop our skills in trauma-informed manual therapy and communication. We will explore some of the most current approaches to working with complex (developmental) trauma, inspired by the work of renowned leaders in the field like Gabor Maté, Peter Levine, Bessel Van der Kolk, Bruce Perry, Lawrence Heller, Stefanie Klein and Brad Kammer. A meaningful aspect of the class is devoted to studying the anatomy, physiology and pathology of the neuroendocrine system. Each day, students will be guided through hands-on practice sessions with each other, to gain an experiential understanding of craniosacral techniques for treating the brain, cranium, reciprocal tension membrane and the neuroendocrine system.

 

Prerequisites: Insight Craniosacral 1 and 2 (or equivalent entry level craniosacral courses)
