Lauri Lind-White
Lauri is a body-oriented trauma therapy practitioner. She specializes in Somatic Experiencing/Trauma Healing bodywork. She has a private practice in Marin County, California where she specializes integrating the listening touch of Rosen Method Bodywork, Visionary Craniosacral Work, and Somatic Practice, with the skills and knowledge of Somatic Experiencing. This combination of modalities gives support to her clients working to resolve and integrate various aspects of somatic dysregulation and trauma.
Lauri approaches each client with her core values of Curiosity, Connection, Openness, and Care. She strives for highly developed technical skills and mastery as a practitioner. Additionally, she integrates listening to the whole person, connecting with the essential aliveness within each client that has survived and thrived through life’s events.
A lifetime of following her curiosity has led her into this body of work. A path that has more clarity in hindsight. Once upon a time, studying Biology and Cultural Anthropology at UC Berkeley her original interest was in medicine and medical anthropology. After becoming a mother her interest shifted, and she began a 3 year training to become a Waldorf Teacher with an interest in human development and individual learning differences. Curiosity persisted leading to a multi-year exploration in Connection and Nature Awareness with Jon Young. Later, working with horses introduced the relational qualities of Equine Guided Education with Barbara Rector. Finally, the inevitable transition into working with physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of my current profession.
Lauri considers herself not just a practitioner, but a somatic educator. With clients, this means illuminating the foundational language of the autonomic nervous system (ANS), which we share with all living beings. This underlying physiology is at work, creating the baseline of our felt experience. In the classroom, this means supporting students as they awaken to perceiving the deeper layers of the ANS and how this interweaves within the skillsets of which they already have mastery. Lauri has assisted in Visionary Craniosacral courses with Hugh Milne and David Kaminker, Somatic Experiencing trainings at all levels, and specialty courses with Kathy Kain in Somatic Practice. Sharing her enthusiasm and support for more curiosity, connection, openness and care in the world is deeply gratifying.
Lauri lives in West Marin, California with her husband, Labrador, and two horses. She spends her free time exploring the trails hiking or horseback riding, and visiting her children and family.
