Service Description

Visionary Craniosacral Work® 7 – Advanced Content Class The Seven Systems The C7 Advanced Content Class examines the relationship between the bony and soft-tissue craniosacral structures that are often involved in headache and vertigo. Students will be exposed to a variety of pedagogic modalities to help address different learning styles, with the intention of deepening their understanding of anatomy and physiology in the craniosacral field. The class is designed to take health professionals to a more inclusive and interactive understanding of the anatomy of the sacrum and the major cranial bones, the central nervous system, the reciprocal tension membrane, the cerebrospinal fluid, and the governor and conception vessels. To this end, the anatomy and physiology of the sphenoid, temporal and mandible, their craniometric points, their fissures, joints, and foramina will be studied in detail. Students will learn about the cartilaginous and membranous origins and classifications of the viscerocranial and neurocranial bones. Students will also be taken on a guided tour of the reciprocal tension membrane, in both its superior and inferior compartments. The production, circulation and reabsorption of the cerebrospinal fluid, and the role of the Myodural Bridge and the central nervous system in headache and vertigo formation will be investigated. The treatment of headache and vertigo with Visionary Craniosacral Work®, will be demonstrated. The teaching team will do its best to give each student a sense of the ‘big picture’ of where and how the craniosacral system, with its seven component parts, fits in to the practice of manual therapy for headache and vertigo. The class will encompass PowerPoint shows, demonstrations with real human cranial bones, art ‘play’ with clay to help get the anatomical learning into the students hands, and manual craniosacral work designed to touch, affect, or access each structure. For the student who feels challenged by the intricacies of anatomy and physiology, completing this class will bring greater familiarity with the anatomical foundations and fulcrums of the work, and allow the location of the craniometric landmarks with greater ease. Accompanying deeper anatomical knowledge will come the ability to bring more attention to bear on the practice of craniosacral technique and touch in the treatment of headache and vertigo.
